Recollecting the resources and sweats i had put in, i cannot deny the sense of loss, i knew this seasonal setback would not last. In the midst of these stormy days, i found something to be thankful for, a precursor of better things to come.  YFBRC’s 4th Anniversary had quietly come and gone. i gave myself more than 1 month to heal and recover with no writing…

*Crickets*…

Something prompted me to write again in October 2020. Yes, something happened.

But first, i want to tell you about the habits that keep me going. Writing from personal experience, these 4 habits have carried me through some of the roughest terrains that life offers, opened my eyes, to experience His soul touching revelations, and enlightened me with multiple possibilities of growth, waiting for me to take that quantum leap of faith, like starting YFBRC 4 years ago. Knowing God’s promising plans does excite me, but they remain useless until i work on my being and doing, to align myself to His plans for me.

HABIT #1 : RESPOND

If you say that you love Jesus Christ, your action must tally with your speech.

If you love me, obey my commandments – John 14:15 NLT

If you truly believe these words of God, then you would obey His commandment. One specific example is to meditate on the Word day and night from Joshua 1:8. In Hebrews, surprisingly, there is no word as obey. Most of the time the word “hear” is used. Hear/ שמע(sh’ma)= listen AND respond. Many people neglected or skip the respond part, is this the reason for dry spells, futility, breakthrough-less and mundane life? Don’t just read or know the Word of God,

RESPOND to the Word/ LIVE it OUT !

HABIT #2 : PRIORITISE

If you truly appreciate the importance of eternal impact the Word has upon your present AND afterlife, your choice of priority matters, it shows and discerning people can sense it somehow. Your commitment to read the Word will, naturally, display your seriousness, dedication and urgency in your relationship with the Word. If you say that ONE DAY you will read the Word, will you ?

DON’T PROCRASTINATE.

Have a plan, prioritise on what is urgent & important, do it.

HABIT #3 : INVITE

If you acknowledge the Holy Spirit, do you invite the Holy Spirit into your life ? If you do, you will do it out from your own desire. You will be compelled, not by anyone, not even your will, but by your own Spirit-filled self;. something better than claiming ownership

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NLT

If you do not see this happening to you, start

INVITING the Holy Spirit !

HABIT #4 : SEEK HELP

Many want to read the Word consistently, but they cannot make it happen. Have you completed, or started your 1st journey since you signed up with YFBRC, 1 year ago, or 4 years ago ? Would you wait, or you rather get help from a Bible reading coach, a trained life coach, who has the system, passion, someone who can empathise with you, coach you, disciple you & encourage you ? It is ok to seek help, many successful people seek help. Do not let your ego stands in the way of the plans that God has for you. Give your friendly Bible reading coach a try. Research has shown that human interaction in coaching relationship boosts achievements. By the way, a difference between free and paid coaching YFBRC service. i coach for a living. Get to know me so that i can give you my undivided personal attention when coaching you on reading His Word. Let my coaching work speak for itself. Please refer my new ABOUT page in Part 2, sharing with you some of my commitments, for the past 4 years. Seeking help from the right source is important. The lame, the blind, the sick sought Jesus’ help, otherwise, He would not have mentioned this interaction with the helpless and hopeless,

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.

I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Matthew 25:35,36,40 NLT

Helping people is helping Jesus. No, Jesus does not need our help, but you are obeying His Greatest commandment. It speaks about how much you treasure His Word and relationship; impact your action has upon Jesus – “you were doing it to me“. And seeking help is definitely not a sign of weakness, but a sign of maturity.
